THE 56TH SESSION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE INTERNATIONAL CIVIL DEFENCE ORGANIZATION TAKES PLACE IN KYRGYZSTAN

The 56th session of the Council of the International Civil Defense Organization (ICDO) will be held in Bishkek from 18 to 19 September. It is attended by members of the Executive Council of the IODE organization from 24 countries and IODE Secretary General Mariatu Yap.

At the meeting, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Akylbek Zhaparov stressed that Kyrgyzstan has been a full member of the prestigious organization since 2011. During this time the country was able to demonstrate its high level of training in the field of Civil Defence and the experience between countries in this area is the most important.

As noted by the Minister of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic, Major General Boobek Azhikeev, ICDO is the only intergovernmental organization specializing in the field of civil defense and protection at the international level, which includes 60 states uniting the peoples of the world to protect the population, property, material and cultural values, as well as the environment from natural and man-made disasters.
