TODAY THE FIRST DEPUTY MINISTER OF EMERGENCY SITUATIONS OF THE KYRGYZ REPUBLIC A. MAMBETOV HELD A MEETING WITH REPRESENTATIVES OF INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS
Today, November 9, in Almaty, on the eve of the Regional Forum - Meeting of the Heads of Emergency Agencies of Central Asia, on the basis of the Center for Emergency Situations and Disaster Risk Reduction, the head of the delegation of the Kyrgyz Republic - First Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic A.M. Mambetov held a meeting with representatives of international organizations, with the newly appointed Head of the Regional Office of the UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction for Europe and Central Asia, Ms. Natalia Alonso Cano, Head of the UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction for Europe and Central Asia, Ms. Sergei Makarov, Head of the UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction for Central Asia. During the meeting the issues of current state of cooperation in the field of disaster management, as well as the implementation of joint projects, concrete steps and innovative approaches aimed at improving preparedness and efficiency of response in emergency situations were discussed.
The parties expressed common interest and readiness in further development of partnership in the field of disaster management, which will contribute to the creation of a safer and more sustainable environment for the population in the Central Asian region.
Also on this day, November 9, the fourteenth meeting of the Council of the Center for Emergency Situations and Disaster Risk Reduction chaired by the Kazakh side with the participation of First Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic A. Mambetov and Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan S. Sharipkhanov was held on the basis of the Center.
During the Council meeting, the presentation on the results of the Center's work for 2023 and priority areas of activity for 2024, as well as information on the Center's implementation of projects in the field of civil protection, adaptation to climate change and emergency situations in the countries of Central Asia was presented.
Following the results of the Council meeting, the report on budget execution for 2023 was adopted and the budget for 2024 was approved.
