SPECIALISTS CONDUCTED RESEARCH AT LAKE CHELEKTOR

Employees of the Department of Monitoring and Forecasting of the Ministry of Emergency Situations continue to study the state of high-mountain lakes with a risk of breakthroughs. Specialists conducted field research work to monitor the high-mountain lake Chelektor.

The aim of the work is to monitor the condition and assess the level of this lake.

This week, on July 30, specialists from the Department of Monitoring and Forecasting of the Ministry of Emergency Situations conducted an aerial visual (using a drone) study of the high-mountain lake Chelektor for the risk of a breakthrough, as well as a bathymetric survey of the bottom of this lake.

The survey results showed that Lake Chelektor is in the filling stage and does not pose a threat.

It should be noted that the high-mountain lake Chelektor is located on the northern slopes of the Kyrgyz ridge at an altitude of 3800 meters above sea level in the Nooruz River basin, 12 kilometers south of the village of Tash-Bashat in the Issyk-Ata district of the Chui region.
