RESCUE SQUAD OF THE MES KR 50 YEARS OLD
November 30 is the birthday of the Republican Separate Rescue Squad (ROSO) of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Today, ROSO celebrates 50 years since the formation of the unit. The solemn event, as well as the ceremony of swearing in of recruits to the military oath timed to the anniversary date, was held in the city of Osh. It was attended by the Minister of Emergency Situations, rescuers, veterans of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, as well as parents of future rescuers.
At the opening of the event, Minister of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic Major General Boobek Azhikeev made a congratulatory speech and spoke about the history of the Republican Separate Rescue Squad.
"Today is a very important day in the history of rescuers. A quarter of a century ago, in Kyrgyzstan, in the village of Sadovoye, Moskovsky district, Chui region, the first among the countries of Central Asia, was formed 945th separate mechanized regiment of civil defense, which performed all the work in emergencies of natural and man-made nature, while repeatedly proving its ability to act in the most difficult conditions. Special thanks to the veterans of the search and rescue service! These people, who stood at the origins of its creation, made a huge contribution to its development, laid the traditions of the search and rescue service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic and today they pass on their experience to the younger generation of rescuers, show an example" - said during his speech Boobek Azhikeev.
In addition, he touched upon the topic of climate change. According to him, this problem is extremely urgent. Since the climate on our planet is changing quite rapidly. It is not a secret that dangerous natural disasters and catastrophes are very frequent phenomena in our country as well," he said. In this regard, in order to ensure the safety of the country's residents from emergencies, in August 1995, this regiment was transferred from the Chui region to the Osh region.
"During its half-century history, the detachment has been formed several times. The rescuers courageously risked their lives and saved many lives. Also, our rescuers were the first to come to the aid of the Turkish people after the earthquake. They carried out search and rescue operations professionally on the spot. Then, in a matter of seconds multi-storey buildings of 11 cities in Turkey turned into piles of ruins, whole skyscrapers were leveled with the ground. Today, the work of Kyrgyz rescuers is written in golden letters in history," the Minister emphasized.
He also noted that for 50 years the rescuers of Kyrgyzstan have been ensuring the safety of citizens, for most people it has become a guarantor of protection, peace of mind and confidence in the future. When eliminating the consequences of landslides, mudslides, snow avalanches, earthquakes, they successfully fulfill their mission. Further, the Minister wished them good health and further success in performing their tasks for the benefit of our Motherland.
Then, the young soldiers took the oath. The future rescuers took an oath of loyalty to the Fatherland.
"Carry with honor the honorable title of an employee of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. Having taken the oath of allegiance to the Motherland, you have become its defenders. Defense of the Motherland is a sacred duty of every citizen!" - said the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
After the official part was over, Boobek Azhikeyev together with his parents familiarized themselves with the living conditions of the military unit where the conscripts will serve. He visited classrooms, dormitory, kitchen, then answered all their questions.
As the Minister noted, during the year the soldiers will undergo basic training here, improve their qualification level. They will learn English and Turkish languages. This is a chance for them to acquire such knowledge, which will be useful in their lives and in the future, they will become masters of their profession. This is where we will recognize our soldiers as welders, electricians and professional specialists. This will pave the way to the future of young people, will contribute to higher education and further improvement of their professions - concluded the Minister of Emergency Situations Boobek Azhikeev.
