OSCE PROGRAMME OFFICE IN BISHKEK PROVIDED AN ARMOURED SUV TO THE MINISTRY OF EMERGENCY SITUATIONS OF THE KR

Today, on 22 September 2023, an armored SUV was ceremonially transferred to the ownership of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic within the framework of the Plan of Cooperation between the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic and the OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek for 2023. 

The Minister of Emergency Situations Boobek Azhikeev expressed his gratitude to the Head of the OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek - Ambassador Alexey Rogov for the continuous support, including the provided assistance in prevention and response, as well as comprehensive support in capacity building of the MES KR. 

For his part, Alexei Rogov appreciated the Minister's warm welcome and confirmed the OSCE's readiness for a strong cooperation. During the meeting, he noted that the cooperation plan includes OSCE assistance in improving emergency response in Kyrgyzstan and disaster risk management. And providing expert and institutional support to improve the capacity of the Ministry of Emergency Situations on disaster prevention and radiation safety is the main goal of this project. 

During the meeting, the sides discussed the prospects for enhanced cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the OSCE in the area of disaster risk reduction. 

We note that today, for the purpose of ensuring the mobility of the Ministry's staff in emergency conditions, the OSCE Programme Office "Improving Environmental Monitoring and Disaster Risk Management" provided one armored SUV to the MES of the Kyrgyz Republic.
