On the instructions of President Sadyr Japarov, the lake continues to be cleared of garbage

On behalf of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov, today, August 11, a group of divers from the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic continues to clean Lake Issyk-Kul of garbage and fishing nets.

It should be noted that the country's leadership is taking the necessary measures to preserve the ecology of Lake Issyk-Kul in order to prevent an ecological catastrophe in the biosphere zone and preserve Lake Issyk-Kul.

Thus, the Emergencies Ministry divers continue to clean the bottom of Issyk-Kul from garbage. Work to clean the lake began on March 12, 2023, by the Decree of President Sadyr Japarov. By the end of 2023, divers removed 22 thousand 545 kilograms of various garbage and 218 thousand 100 meters of fishing nets.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, this year, as a result of the work done to clean up Lake Issyk-Kul, 40 thousand meters of fishing nets and about 6 tons of various garbage were caught. At present, poaching still continues despite the fact that it is prohibited by law.

As experts note, one of the serious negative impacts on the cleanliness of Lake Issyk-Kul is the garbage left by vacationers, which is carried throughout the entire water area of Issyk-Kul when the wind blows. In this regard, citizens of the country and all vacationers are urged to take care of Lake Issyk-Kul, as this unique natural heritage requires special attention and care. In order to preserve its cleanliness and ecosystem, it is important not to leave garbage on the banks and in the water. Each visitor should remember that their actions directly affect the state of the lake, and only joint efforts will help preserve it for future generations.
