12 RESCUERS RECEIVED AWARDS OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION
Today, within the framework of the 56th session of the Council of the International Civil Defense Organization, the Minister of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic, Major General Boobek Azhikeev held a meeting in a close circle with a special delegation headed by the Minister of Civil Defense, Emergencies and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters of the Russian Federation, Lieutenant General Alexander Kurenkov and the Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Kyamaleddin Heydarov.
The parties discussed priority directions of comprehensive cooperation in the field of prevention of natural and man-made emergencies and elimination of their consequences.
In his speech, Minister Boobek Azhikeyev expressed deep gratitude to his colleague Alexander Kurenkov for providing technical support in the form of 40 fire tanker trucks, as well as the latest Russian Mi-8 MTV firefighting helicopter.
Further, 12 rescuers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic were awarded the departmental medal "For Commonwealth for Rescue" of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation.
Medal of high rank were awarded to rescuers mountain rescue squad "Edelweiss" at the State Rescue Training Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic for courageous and active efforts to search for 4 climbers missing on Victory Peak in July this year.
Recall that on July 13, citizens of Lithuania and Russia, led by Russian Dmitry Pavlenko and his wife Svetlana Velikanova, signed a contract with the company "Aksai-Travel" and with a "tourist insurance policy" checked into a camp in the Issyk-Kul region. On the same day they went to the peak of "Victory".
The last time the tourist group was in contact was July 19, however, for unknown reasons the connection was lost. Unfortunately, the missing four climbers could not be found.
On July 27, from the Ministry of the Russian Federation for Civil Defense, Emergencies and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters (EMERCOM of Russia) received an official request for assistance and search operations.
In order to organize search and rescue operations and sending to the emergency zone from the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic were created mobile search and rescue teams of 11 people, as well as a helicopter was involved.
