MINISTER HELD A MEETING WITH UNDP RESIDENT REPRESENTATIVE IN THE KR

Minister of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic Boobek Azhikeev received the Resident Representative of the UN Development Programme in the Kyrgyz Republic Alexandra Solovyeva. 

The Head of Emergency Situations congratulated Alexandra Solovyeva with her new position in August that she took up this year, wished her success and appreciated the work carried out within the framework of the implementation of the National Strategy for Disaster Risk Reduction.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the prospects for further cooperation between the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic and UNDP in the Kyrgyz Republic. 

During the meeting, the sides touched upon issues of bilateral cooperation in the area of disaster prevention and response, as well as opportunities for the implementation of joint projects.

They discussed priority tasks related to climate change and sustainable development (such as water security, disaster risk reduction), as well as general strategic priorities for further cooperation.

Alexandra Solovyova expressed her gratitude for the warm welcome and confirmed UNDP's readiness for strong cooperation.

Further, the sides exchanged views on existing challenges and priorities in the area of disaster risk management.

At the end of the meeting, Minister Boobek Azhikeev expressed his hope for the continuation of fruitful cooperation.
