Today,️ January️ 30,️ the️ Minister️ of️ Emergency️ Situations️ of️ the️ Kyrgyz️ Republic,️ Major️ General️ Boobek️

Azhikeev️ met️ with️ Ambassador️ Extraordinary️ and️ Plenipotentiary️ of️ Mongolia️ to️ the️ Kyrgyz️ Republic️

Gankhuyag️ Sodnom.

Taking️ into️ account️ the️ development️ of️ bilateral️ relations,️ the️ parties️ exchanged️ views️ on️ the️ issues️ of️

Kyrgyz-Mongolian️ cooperation️ in️ the️ field️ of️ prevention️ and️ elimination️ of️ emergency️ situations️ and️

development️ of️ forestry.

During️ the️ meeting,️ the️ participants️ discussed️ a️ number️ of️ issues️ related️ to️ forest️ ecology,️ paying️

special️ attention️ to️ reforestation️ and️ afforestation,️ planting️ seedlings️ and️ sowing️ seeds️ of️ drought-

resistant️ and️ salt-resistant️ tree️ species️ and️ the️ development️ of️ agroforestry,️ as️ well️ as️ cooperation️

between️ the️ Ministry️ of️ Emergency️ Situations️ of️ the️ Kyrgyz️ Republic️ and️ the️ State️ Agency️ for️

Emergency️ Situations️ of️ Mongolia.

At️ the️ end️ of️ the️ talks,️ the️ parties️ expressed️ their️ gratitude️ for️ cooperation️ in️ the️ development️ of️

forest️ ecosystems️ and️ hope️ for️ long-term️ cooperation️ and️ partnership.

Recall️ that️ on️ July️ 9,️ 2023,️ during️ the️ state️ visit️ of️ the️ President️ of️ the️ Kyrgyz️ Republic️ Sadyr️ Zhaparov️

to️ Mongolia,️ a️ Memorandum️ of️ Understanding️ was️ signed️ between️ the️ Ministry️ of️ Agriculture️ of️ the️

Kyrgyz️ Republic️ and️ the️ Ministry️ of️ Environment️ and️ Tourism️ of️ Mongolia️ in️ the️ development️ of️ forest️

ecosystems.

The️ Memorandum️ of️ Understanding️ between️ the️ Ministry️ of️ Agriculture️ of️ the️ Kyrgyz️ Republic️ and️ the️

Ministry️ of️ Environment️ and️ Tourism️ of️ Mongolia️ in️ the️ field️ of️ forest️ ecosystems️ development️ was️

prepared️ in️ order️ to️ strengthen️ bilateral️ cooperation️ in️ the️ field️ of️ forest️ ecosystems️ development️

between️ the️ Kyrgyz️ Republic️ and️ Mongolia.

Under️ the️ Memorandum️ it️ is️ envisaged️ to️ establish️ bilateral️ cooperation️ in️ the️ implementation️ of️

national️ initiatives️ of️ the️ Kyrgyz️ Republic️ -️ "Jashyl️ Muras"️ and️ Mongolia️ -️ "Billion️ Trees"️ and️ exchange️

of️ experience️ in️ the️ development️ of️ forest️ ecosystems.

The️ responsible️ body️ from️ the️ Mongolian️ side️ will️ be️ the️ State️ Property️ Enterprise️ "Erdenet️

Enterprise"️ (Erdenet)️ for️ the️ implementation️ of️ the️ Memorandum.

A️ working️ group️ has️ been️ established️ on️ this️ issue,️ which️ within️ the️ framework️ of️ the️ Joint️ Declaration

of️ Mongolia️ and️ the️ Kyrgyz️ Republic️ on️ deepening️ relations️ of️ friendship️ and️ cooperation️ from️ July️ 9,️

2023️ will️ take️ part️ in️ a️ visit️ to️ Mongolia️ from️ January️ 24️ to️ February️ 8,️ 2024️ to️ study️ soil-climatic️ and️

forest️ conditions,️ to️ determine️ the️ suitability️ of️ land️ for️ the️ establishment️ of️ forest️ crops,️ plantations️

and️ fruit️ orchards,️ as️ well️ as️ to️ conduct️ experimental️ planting️ of️ seedlings️ and️ seeds️ of️ forest️ tree️

species️ on️ the️ territory️ of️ Mongolia.
