MINISTER IN JALAL-ABAD REGION: BANK PROTECTION WORKS ON THE KOK-ART RIVER

Today, September 25, the Minister of Emergency Situations, Major General Boobek Azhikeev, is on a working visit to the Jalal-Abad region.

As part of his working visit, the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations inspected the bank protection works on the Kok-Art River in the Suzak District. He got acquainted with the works on changing the riverbed and strengthening its banks.

The purpose of the trip is to become familiar with the sites where protective structures are being built, to inspect potentially dangerous areas and make appropriate decisions.

On site, Boobek Azhikeev conducted explanatory work regarding coastal protection works on the Kok-Art River.

It should be noted that due to heavy rains in April of this year, the level of the Kok-Art River rose and created a flood threat for residential buildings. Bank protection works are currently underway.

Upon completion, 350 hectares of land will be protected from the threat of flooding. Special engineering equipment from the Ministry of Emergency Situations is working on site.
