MINISTER BOOBEK AZHIKEEV: “YOUTH ARE CHANGEMAKER WHO PAVE THE PATH TO A BETTER FUTURE”
Today, at the State Rescue Training Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic, within the framework of the month “October 5 – Disaster Risk Reduction Day of the Kyrgyz Republic”, a solemn ceremony was held to present special professional diplomas, certificates and awards to participants in various international competitions and winners of the republican competition “Young Rescuers”.
The award ceremony began with a welcoming speech from the Minister of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic, Major General Boobek Azhikeev.
The head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations greeted the personnel and future officers, expressed his gratitude to those who took part in international events and competitions held as part of the “Disaster Risk Reduction Day in the Kyrgyz Republic”, noting that a rescuer is one of the most necessary and important professions, the future belongs to you, in your hands the safety of people, their peace of mind and confidence in their future.
Participating in international exercises held in Belarus and Kazakhstan, our rescuers with professionalism take prizes and raise the flag of Kyrgyzstan high. And we are proud - the minister emphasized.
"Also, at the beginning of this year, during the period of despair of the Turkish people, our rescuers came to their aid, rescuing their loved ones from under the rubble, showed an example of high humanity. They distinguished themselves by their excellent training. Eight people were rescued from under the rubble, and the bodies of the victims were taken out and handed over to their relatives. The Head of State Sadyr Zhaparov praised the heroism and bravery of our selfless rescuers who saved human lives from death in the midst of the terrible disaster - earthquake and presented them with awards. Bravery and great labour of Kyrgyz rescuers is the pride of our people and it will be a great example for our future generations!" - noted the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic.
As he said, significant efforts are being made today to improve the level of qualification, education and physical fitness of the personnel, from ordinary soldiers to high ranking officers.
"Being a free, independent, democratic country, for the first time among the armed forces we have provided an opportunity for ordinary soldiers to learn two languages free of charge and on equal terms at the State Rescue Training Centre of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic. These skills will not go in vain. This is a chance for them to acquire such knowledge, which will be useful for them in life and work. In the future, they will become masters of their profession. It is here that we will recognise our soldiers as welders, electricians, furniture makers and professional specialists. I note that the result of our work is postponed in time. And the first fruits of our labours are pleasing. This will pave the way for the future of young people, increase their interest in language learning, contribute to higher education and further improvement of their professions - added Boobek Azhikeev.
At the final awarding ceremony, professional rescuers-military servicemen received diplomas and certificates from the hands of the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as rescuers who won at international competitions and the national competition "Young Rescuers" were awarded cups, medals, certificates, and students who also participated in the competition - memorable gifts.
As a reminder, the first place in this republican competition was taken by young rescuers of Talas region, the second place - Osh city, and the third - Naryn region.
The main purpose of the activity is to draw public attention to the work of rescuers and show their professionalism.
