KYRGYZ RESCUERS RETURNED HOME FROM KAZAKHSTAN

On December 16, late in the evening, Kyrgyz rescuers who went to the aid of the brotherly people to help evacuate citizens stuck in traffic jams due to snow drifts during the emergency situation in Korday district of Zhambyl region in southern Kazakhstan, returned home. 

Akim of Korday district and rescuers of Kazakhstan expressed their deep gratitude to the rescuers of Kyrgyzstan for their assistance in a difficult moment and presented them with certificates and valuable awards. 

Recall, December 14 in Korday district of Zhambyl region in southern Kazakhstan, due to weather conditions, road was closed on the section Almaty - Tashkent. As a result, on the territory of Kordai and Shu district of Zhambyl region a state of emergency of natural local scale was introduced. Then, about 150 drivers with passengers could not enter Kyrgyzstan.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic sent 39 rescuers, 5 units of heavy equipment, 1 Nissan PIKAP, 2 snowmobiles and necessary equipment to the Ak-Jol border post to assist in evacuating citizens stuck in traffic jams. 

On December 15, at three o'clock in the morning, rescuers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic entered the territory of Kazakhstan and began emergency rescue work. As a result, 16 Kyrgyz citizens were sent home by passenger car of the State Rescue Training Center from Otar village to Korday (Kazakhstan).

Also, on the Kyrgyz side, heating points were organized in the Bishkek-Almaty café near the Ak-Jol checkpoint.

In addition, on the Kordai-Shu highway, MES employees, using special equipment, evacuated stranded vehicles from the snow drift to the paved road.
