KYRGYZSTAN PROVIDES HUMANITARIAN ASSISTANCE TO THE PEOPLE OF AFGHANISTAN AFFECTED BY THE EARTHQUAKE

Kyrgyzstan expresses solidarity with the people of Afghanistan, expresses sincere condolences to the families of the victims and wishes a speedy recovery to the injured.

On the instructions of the head of state Sadyr Japarov, in the near future the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic will deliver to the people of Afghanistan another 100 tons of food, including 75 tons of flour, 20 tons of sugar, 5 tons of sunflower oil, as well as 500 beds, as many warm blankets and mattresses. 

Women and children will also receive winter clothes, shoes, toys, food and personal hygiene products worth 1 million soms from the funds allocated by the International Civil Defense Organization.

Recall, according to the Ministry of Disaster Management in the west of Afghanistan, on October 7, 2023, an earthquake of magnitude 6.3 in the northwestern city of Herat led to the death of more than 2,000 people, 9,240 people were injured, more  than 1,300 houses were damaged.
