A MUDFLOW FLOODED THE CULTURAL CENTER "RUKH ORDO", CLEANING AND RECOVERY WORKS ARE UNDERWAY

On August 12, at approximately 21:20, a mudslide occurred in the city of Cholpon-Ata in the Issyk-Kul region due to heavy rainfall.

The courtyards of 1 store, 7 residential buildings and the territory of the cultural center “Rukh Ordo” named after Ch. Aitmatov were flooded.

Also in the village of Baktuu-Dolonotuu, the river overflowed its banks and flooded the basement of one residential building.

Today, early in the morning, 46 rescuers, under the leadership of the Minister of Emergency Situations, Major General Boobek Azhikeev, began cleaning and restoration work at the Rukh Ordo cultural center.

Two units of engineering equipment from the Civil Defense Service are involved at the site.

To quickly eliminate the consequences, another 75 rescuers and additional equipment from the Ministry of Emergency Situations will be brought in.
