A GROUP OF RESCUERS FROM KYRGYZSTAN HAS BEEN SENT TO KAZAKHSTAN FOR DRIVERS AND PASSENGERS STUCK ON THE ROAD

According to preliminary information, on December 14, 2023, due to snowfall in Kordai district of Zhambyl region of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the highway Alma-Ata-Tashkent (the route is determined) due to snow drifts the road is closed.   

According to the 112 service, between the villages of Alga and Kordai, about 150 drivers with passengers were unable to enter Kyrgyzstan.

The Department of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan involved 99 rescuers and 37 units of heavy equipment.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic at 03:05 sent 39 rescuers, 5 units of heavy equipment, 1 Nissan PIKAP, 2 snowmobiles and necessary equipment to the Ak-Jol border post to assist in evacuating citizens stuck in the traffic jam. 

At 08:05 the rescuers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic entered the territory of Kazakhstan.

According to the results of negotiations of the Central Crisis Management Departments of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, unimpeded passage of volunteers back and forth by 5 vehicles is organized, and citizens are evacuated to a safe place.
