WORLD BANK TECHNICAL MISSION UNDER THE KG RESILAND CA+ PROJECT CONTINUES IN BISHKEK

A technical mission of the World Bank under the “Sustainable Landscape Restoration in the Kyrgyz Republic (KG RESILAND CA+)” project is taking place in Bishkek.

The purpose of the mission is to review the current implementation progress, agree on key priorities for the coming period, and discuss next steps with project partners.

During the meetings, participants discussed matters related to Financial Management (FM), payments and procurement, coordination of actions, the Results Matrix, and implementation timelines. The importance of strengthening coordination among all implementing and partner institutions to enhance efficiency and ensure transparency at every stage of project execution was emphasized.

Specific attention was given to the procurement and delivery of equipment and the laboratory accreditation process, which plays a crucial role in supporting scientific research and Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) within the project framework.

In addition, an online presentation by Ms. Inada San (from AAS — team of consultants under the World Bank) was held, focusing on the conceptual NBS design in Cholpon-Ata. The session included a discussion and Q&A, allowing participants to exchange views on practical approaches to NBS implementation in the Kyrgyz context.

Representatives of the World Bank and the Project Implementation Unit (PIU) under the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic (MoES KR) highlighted the importance of effective coordination and consistent implementation of activities aimed at sustainable landscape restoration and enhancing community resilience to natural hazards.
